Of course we should place all the ayaat and ahadith together when deciding a matter. But these are interesting narrations
Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) reported in Majmoo’ al-fataawa that Umar ibn al-Khattaab (رضي الله عنه) said: “Marriage is slavery, so be careful in regards to whom you give your daughters to.”
And the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “I urge you to treat women well, for they are prisoners with you.” (Tirmidhi)
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said,
“The most perfect believers are those who have the best behavior, and the best of you are those who are the best to their wives.”
[At-Tirmidhi}
Sheikh ibn Uthaymeen comments on this hadith:
“The person should treat his/her family with the best of conduct; since they are the closest to him/her. One should follow the Prophet’s example, as expressed by ‘Aishah, that he was in the service of his family (peace be upon him).”
(Riyad as-Saliheen).
Shaykh al-Albani [رحمه الله] said:
❝All women should prefer marrying men who seek knowledge.❞
